About Hudson Ferris:
Hudson Ferris is a NYC-based boutique consultancy that offers a full range of professional fundraising services for nonprofits. Our leadership team has raised millions of dollars for some of the country’s most notable nonprofit brands and institutions. Since our founding in 2012, we have served more than 200 organizations worldwide across the full spectrum of nonprofit arenas, including arts and culture, healthcare, education, climate change, poverty alleviation, social justice, youth causes, and international development. Working at Hudson Ferris allows a person who is multi-passionate about nonprofit causes the rare ability to work on many causes at once. At Hudson Ferris, everything we do is because we care about our clients’ vital work.
Hudson Ferris is a mission-driven firm at our core. We take a team approach to every endeavor, utilizing our core competencies – strategy, research, outreach, and communications – to find the shortest route to funding for our clients. What sets Hudson Ferris apart from our competitors is that we not only provide high-level strategic counsel, but we provide the boots-on-the-ground staff support required to execute these strategies. We do not offer cookie-cutter approaches but instead develop customized, highly tailored solutions that meet our clients’ unique fundraising needs and set them up for near-term wins and long-term growth and sustainability. We enjoy collaborating as a team and strive always to reach our collective goals.
About the candidate:
We are currently looking for an Account Executive with 3+ years’ nonprofit fundraising experience. We are seeking an ambitious and hard-working junior-level development professional looking to advance to the next level in their career. The ideal candidate will be highly organized and a detail-oriented multi-tasker, with strong personal communication skills, an aptitude for writing, and project management experience. This person may have been a Development Officer, Associate, Assistant, or Coordinator at an established nonprofit or may be currently serving in a supportive role at a fundraising consultancy. Ideally, this person will have had exposure to multiple development teams and is in a position to judge which fundraising practices are more effective than others. Their current responsibilities may include grant writing, gift acknowledgement, prospect research, portfolio management, or donor communications. This person will be comfortable liaising with clients and can think quickly on their feet while maintaining composure and professionalism in high pressure situations. The right candidate will have an entrepreneurial drive and identify as a problem solver. We are looking for someone with intellectual curiosity and a strong work ethic, who is comfortable in a fast-paced environment. This person should be comfortable working both independently, and collaboratively, and able to adjust to shifting priorities.
This person will handle the tactical execution of fundraising strategies and activities required to achieve the client’s fundraising goals. These activities include and are not limited to reaching out to funders by phone and email, writing correspondence, and data management/record keeping.
As this time, Hudson Ferris is embarking on a new business venture with the launch of our fundraising help desk Margaret! While this tool will have its own team supporting the platform, the Accounts Team will provide fundraising expertise when needed to Margaret clients, and may support the launch of Margaret by executing such tasks as answering questions, providing customer tech support, onboarding new clients, and more. This is an exciting opportunity to democratize the fundraising consultant world and provide access to nonprofits who have been unable to obtain these services. With this launch, we are looking for an Account Executive who has an entrepreneurial spirit and would be invested in this new venture.
We are looking for someone with a desire to grow within the company and a commitment to our company values: Persistence, Tenacity, Curiosity, and Solidarity.
