Position Summary: Automotive Test Engineer
Primary Responsibilities:
· Develop and execute test plans for diagnostic and ECU flash programming applications.
· Validate software for vehicle communication systems and TECH 2 core releases.
· Document issues and resolutions using MS TFS/Azure DevOps.
· Perform electrical/mechanical testing and light vehicle disassembly as needed.
· Design and automate test systems using LabVIEW and other tools.
· Analyze test data, report findings, and recommend design revisions.
· Collaborate with cross-functional engineering teams and attend development meetings.
· Maintain safety, housekeeping, and lab standards.
Required Skills & Experience:
· Basic proficiency in MS Office and Outlook.
· Strong interpersonal, communication, and organizational skills.
· Ability to multitask and work independently or in teams.
· Familiarity with automotive systems and diagnostic tools (e.g., TECH 2, VLT, CAT).
· Understanding of serial data protocols (CAN, GMLAN, UART, etc.).
· Experience in LabVIEW programming and reading electrical schematics.
· 3+ years in automotive electrical/mechanical testing preferred.
Education & Certifications:
· High School Diploma or GED required; associate degree or bachelor’s degree equivalent training preferred.
· ASE certification preferred.
· 0–2 years of experience for entry-level roles
Team Task:
Execute test plans for diagnostic applications and ECU flash programming. Document and track issues using Azure DevOps. Validate resolved issues and close cases. Perform hands-on electrical and mechanical testing on vehicles. Use tools like TECH 2, VLT, and CAT to diagnose serial data communication issues. Collaborate with engineers to design and automate test systems using LabVIEW.
