Job Description

We are a growing residential homebuilding company based in Sarasota, FL, seeking an experienced and strategic Chief Financial Officer (CFO) to lead our financial operations. The CFO will be a key member of the executive leadership team, responsible for overseeing all financial aspects of the business, driving strategic growth, and ensuring the financial health of the organization.

Key Responsibilities:

• Provide strategic financial leadership, aligning financial management with the company’s short- and long-term goals.
• Oversee budgeting, forecasting, financial planning and analysis (FP&A), and capital planning.
• Lead accounting, finance, and risk management teams; ensure compliance with GAAP and other regulatory requirements.
• Analyze operational efficiency and recommend cost-control strategies across land acquisition, development, and construction.
• Manage banking relationships, financing arrangements, and investor reporting.
• Develop and maintain internal controls and financial reporting systems.
• Monitor cash flow, liquidity, and working capital needs.
• Evaluate land deals and development projects from a financial risk/reward standpoint.
• Work with the CEO and executive team on strategic initiatives, including potential M&A and growth into new markets.
• Ensure timely and accurate monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements.

Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, or related field (MBA or CPA preferred).
• 10+ years of progressive financial leadership experience, ideally within the real estate, homebuilding, or construction industries.
• Deep understanding of project-based accounting, cost control, and residential development.
• Strong analytical, problem-solving, and strategic thinking skills.
• Proven leadership ability with a collaborative, hands-on management style.
• Excellent communication skills and the ability to present complex financial information to non-financial stakeholders.
• Familiarity with Florida real estate markets and Sarasota housing trends is a strong plus.
