Chief Operating Officer – Real Estate Investment Platform

San Diego County, CA – Hybrid Role

We are partnered with a privately held West Coast real estate investment platform with a national footprint across Multifamily & other asset classes. The firm specializes in acquiring, repositioning & developing value-add assets and real-estate-backed credit, with a track record of active deal flow & disciplined asset management. They are seeking a proven Chief Operating Officer (COO) to scale operations, drive portfolio performance & partner closely with the executive team.

This is a rare opportunity to help institutionalize a growing owner-operator, shape the operating model end-to-end & play a pivotal role in delivering strong returns for investors while building a best-in-class platform.

Responsibilities

• Own day-to-day operations across Asset Management, Acquisitions, Prop operations & Corporate functions
• Build scalable processes, KPIs & reporting across acquisitions through dispositions, including post-close integration & business plans
• Partner with Investments on underwriting assumptions, due diligence, capitalization plans & value-creation strategies
• Oversee annual budgets, forecasting, portfolio analytics, lender & JV reporting, compliance & risk management
• Lead cross-functional teams to execute capex, redevelopment & repositioning programs on time & on budget
• Drive talent strategy, org design, vendor strategy & technology enablement to support growth
• Serve as a key voice with capital partners, lenders & Investors to align on strategy & performance

Requirements

• 15+ years in Real Estate investment, owner-operator or related platform leadership with significant exposure to Multifamily
• Demonstrated success running multi-market portfolios with value-add, redevelopment or distressed-to-core strategies
• Strong command of portfolio operations, asset management, budgeting, capital planning, debt markets & investor reporting
• Track record building teams, systems & dashboards that improve speed, accountability & returns
• Excellent leadership & communication skills with a hands-on, solutions-driven approach
• Bachelor’s degree required; advanced degree or relevant certifications advantageous
