Civil Engineer – Site Design & Development

Location: Fort Wayne, IN (Relocation assistance available)

Salary Range: $90,000 – $150,000 (depending on experience)

Openings: Multiple positions available at all levels

About the Opportunity

Pen Pioneer is seeking multiple Civil Engineers—ranging from early-career to seasoned professionals—to join a leading site design and construction team. We’re looking for driven individuals who can thrive both independently and collaboratively, working with colleagues, clients, and review agencies. Our projects cover commercial, residential, and mixed-use site development, delivering “field-to-finish” solutions from survey through final construction.

We are expanding our 30-person team by adding up to three new Civil Engineers to meet growing demand. Relocation assistance is available for the right candidate, and we are looking to hire immediately.

Key Responsibilities

  • Create detailed site layout plans that meet client needs and comply with all relevant regulations.
  • Coordinate designs for utilities, roadways, grading, erosion control, stormwater management, and related site infrastructure.
  • Communicate effectively with clients, project managers, and review agencies regarding project status, design, and deliverables.
  • Collaborate with the construction division during project execution to ensure seamless design-to-build integration.
  • Complete assigned work in a timely, organized manner, maintaining quality standards.

Qualifications & Skills

  • P.E. or F.E. license preferred.
  • Experience in commercial and residential site development.
  • Familiarity with applicable codes, regulations, and permitting processes.
  • Strong skills in AutoCAD Civil 3D, hydraulic computation software, and Microsoft Office.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a collaborative team.
  • Relevant experience level will determine role placement and salary within the stated range.
