Coatings Manager

• Led and managed all coatings department personnel across multiple facilities, ensuring proper staffing levels and operational efficiency.
• Coordinated closely with the Production Manager and Superintendents to establish coatings-related priorities and production schedules.
• Conducted regular audits and inspections to ensure coatings applications met or exceeded industry standards, issuing corrective actions when necessary.
• Ensured adherence to preventive maintenance programs on all equipment to maintain production efficiency and reduce downtime.
• Maintained compliance with all documentation, retention, and regulatory requirements, working closely with the EHS department to ensure environmental safety.
• Oversaw procurement processes , reviewing purchase orders and vendor relationships for cost-effectiveness and accuracy.
• Provided ongoing training and mentorship , coaching coatings personnel to enhance skill levels and maintain quality workmanship.
• Communicated critical issues affecting production, safety, or quality to senior management for proactive resolution.

Education & Certifications

• High School Diploma
• NACE Level I Certification (Required)
• NACE Level II Certification or Equivalent (Preferred)

Technical Skills & Knowledge

• In-depth understanding of coatings operations, equipment, and inspection processes
• Ability to read and interpret coatings drawings, codes, and specifications
• Strong working knowledge of preventive maintenance and quality control
• Effective team collaboration with production, safety, and management personnel

• Reports to: Shop Superintendent
• Works closely with: Production Manager, Project Managers, and EHS Manager
• Industry Note: This is NOT a powder coating position.
