Job Description

Trillium Construction is hiring for a Commercial Interiors Estimator to assist on bids for commercial remodel and build-out work in Richmond, VA. This is a direct-hire, full-time opportunity, with a competitive salary and benefits!

Duties:

  • Analyze project plans, specifications, and other documentation to prepare detailed estimates for commercial interior projects.
  • Perform quantity takeoffs and cost analysis for all divisions of interior construction, including drywall, ceilings, flooring, millwork, finishes, MEP trades, and specialties.
  • Solicit and evaluate subcontractor and supplier bids to ensure accurate and complete coverage of project scopes.
  • Coordinate with architects, engineers, and consultants to clarify project requirements and resolve discrepancies.
  • Develop conceptual budgets and pricing during early design phases, as well as hard bids at later stages.
  • Work closely with project managers and field teams to support preconstruction hand-off and buyout processes.
  • Maintain and update historical cost data and estimating databases.
  • Attend pre-bid meetings, site visits, and post-bid reviews as needed.
  • Monitor market conditions, material costs, and labor trends to keep estimates current and competitive.

Compensation:

  • Annual salary between $75,000 - $100,000
  • M/V/D benefits

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Construction Management, Architecture, Engineering, or a related field preferred.
  • 3–5 years of estimating experience in commercial interiors, tenant improvement, or general construction.
  • Proficiency in estimating software such as Bluebeam, On-Screen Takeoff (OST), Sage Estimating, or ProEst.
  • Strong knowledge of construction means, methods, and materials specific to interior projects.
  • Excellent math, organizational, and time management skills.
  • Ability to read and interpret construction drawings, specifications, and contracts.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.
  • Experience working with subcontractors and vendor pricing in the commercial interiors sector.
