Job Description

Brockwell & Carrington Contractors, Inc. is actively seeking an experienced Construction Project Manager to lead public sector construction projects in New Jersey. This is a key leadership role within our firm, ideal for candidates with 5+ years of experience managing ground-up public works projects exceeding $10 million in value.

Role Responsibilities: • Lead project planning, scheduling, budgeting, and execution from preconstruction through closeout. • Oversee project documentation, procurement, and contract administration. • Coordinate effectively with architects, engineers, consultants, subcontractors, and client representatives. • Manage project budgets and cost controls, including change orders and forecasting. • Ensure all work complies with contract documents, safety standards, and quality expectations. • Monitor construction progress through site visits and regular updates with field staff. • Lead project meetings and maintain communication with all stakeholders. • Work closely with field superintendents to maintain alignment between schedule, budget, and field conditions.

Required Skills & Experience: • Proven ability to manage multiple complex public construction projects simultaneously. • Strong knowledge of public procurement, prevailing wage, and DPMC/NJEDA procedures. • Proficiency in reading and interpreting Architectural, Structural, Civil, and MEP plans. • Solid understanding of construction schedules (CPM scheduling experience preferred). • Experience in cost tracking, change management, and value engineering. • Excellent verbal and written communication skills, including RFI, submittals, and correspondence drafting. • Advanced proficiency with project management software (e.g., Procore, MS Project, or Primavera) and Excel. Brockwell & Carrington utilizes Autodesk “Build”.
