Job Description

Position Summary:
Responsible for providing system training and support in the areas of Registration, Scheduling, Charge Entry and Clinical Repository for all new support staff. Promote and enhance on‐ going training for existing employees, as needed. Provide on sight training and support for updates and enhancements to operational workflows, policies and system functionality. Provide refresher courses as needed.
Education, License & Cert:
Minimum of GED/high school diploma required; prefer Associate’s degree.
Experience:
Strong organizational and customer service skills are required. Knowledge of Epic systems and experience with Office software preferred. Public speaking or training background preferred. Ability to read, understand, and follow oral and written instructions.
Essential Functions:
1. Provide training to new support staff, to include but not limited to: Registration, Scheduling, Charge Entry and Cash Management, Financial Clearance and Workqueue processing for all new support staff.
2. Conducts new employee follow up, and coordinates additional training, as needed, for all existing employees.
3. Responsible for initiating and/or supporting training of new CRC staff
4. Responsible for maintaining a thorough understanding of insurance requirements as they relate to revenue cycle
5. Assesses knowledge and skill level of staff upon completion of both classroom and follow up training.
6. Develops and maintains up to date training materials.
7. Maintains a database of training participation and reports deficiencies to appropriate supervisors.
8. Answers phone calls and correspondence providing requested information for appropriate follow‐ up.
9. Maintain knowledge and performs within the compliance of The Guthrie Clinic policies and payer guidelines.
10. Provides feedback related to workflow processes in order to promote efficiency.
Other Duties:
1. Demonstrates excellent customer service skills for both internal and external customers.
2. Maintains strict confidentiality related to patient health information in accordance with HIPAA compliance.
3. Assists with and completes projects and other duties as assigned.
4. Carries out other responsibilities as may be necessary.
