Corporate Quality Assurance Manager (Direct Hire)

Dayton, Ohio

Job Requisition: 7255

Annual Salary Range: $130 - 150K. Individual salaries are based on education, geographic location, and alignment to the market data.

Description for Corporate QA Manager:

The Quality Manager ensures sustainable excellence in production quality by providing strategic leadership, managing quality inspections, and overseeing supplier performance for two sites. Be the lead the Quality Assurance Department, manage corrective actions, and drive customer satisfaction improvements. The role involves maintaining ISO9001 and AAR systems, conducting audits, and ensuring compliance with customer requirements through APQP and PPAP processes. The manager also oversees incoming inspections and supports both existing tools and new product industrialization.

Responsibilities for Corporate QA Manager:

  • Lead, manage and mentor the general performance and continual development of the Quality Assurance Department
  • Manage the supply base performance for all suppliers, activities include supplier visits, onsite audits, reviews, approval and scorecard process
  • Oversee execution of internal/external corrective actions, lead all departments with internal problem solving, maintain and implement internal product and process reporting systems and utilize data driven problem solving techniques
  • Lead, monitor, report and improve customer satisfaction performance and manage customer complaints including CAR, SCAR and NCM reporting
  • Maintain the current ISO9001 and AAR systems, schedule and lead recertification and surveillance audits and management reviews, lead auditing required, training internal ISO & AAR auditors, coordinate internal ISO and AAR audit schedules and conduct internal ISO & AAR audits
  • Lead and maintain APQP and PPAP for parts to ensure customer requirements are met, lead and maintain QCP, FMEA and PFD as well as FAI documentation to ensure compliance with customer specifications
  • Manage incoming inspection, first article inspection and supplier dock audits based on internal and external feedback and ongoing supplier performance
  • Direct and coordinate the activities of quality support for existing tools and processes and industrialization of new products
  • Assures the proper documentation is maintained for quality processes, tools and Sub Bullets
  • Travel to other company sites as needed to oversee quality processes, supplier performance, and conduct audits (25-30%)

Requirements for Corporate QA Manager:

  • Bachelor’s degree in engineering or a related technical field.
  • 5+ years of experience in quality management, with at least 3 years in a decision-making role.
  • Strong leadership and mentoring skills for managing the Quality Assurance Department.
  • Experience with supplier management, including audits, reviews, approvals, and performance evaluations.
  • Proficiency in ISO9001 and AAR systems, including leading audits and managing recertifications.
  • Expertise in APQP, PPAP, QCP, FMEA, PFD, and FAI processes to ensure compliance with customer requirements.
  • Excellent problem-solving abilities using data-driven techniques and managing internal/external corrective actions.
  • Ability to read and interpret technical documents like engineering drawings (GD&T).
  • Strong communication skills for presenting information to top management and external stakeholders.
  • Customer-focused with experience in handling complaints, including CAR, SCAR, and NCM reporting.

Desired for Corporate QA Manager:

  • Lean Six Sigma Greenbelt or higher
  • ASQ quality certifications
  • Minitab experience
  • Welding experience (prefer resistance welding experience) and electrical knowledge especially rotating electrical (motors / fans / blowers etc.) is preferred.
  • CMM experience [Not required, but preferred (Roemer/FARO arms especially)
  • Knowledge of one or more manufacturing processes: assembly, HVAC, stamping, welding, brazing and metal fabrication and machining
  • AAR M-1003
  • AutoCAD experience
