Skyline's Board Certified Oral & Maxillofacial Surgeons and care teams place our patients at the center of everything we do. We specialize in wisdom teeth and other extractions, orthognathic (jaw reconstruction) surgery, dental implants, full arch and "all-on-x" restorations, and many other treatments and procedures. Understanding that dental and oral surgery procedures can trigger anxiety, we offer patients options for sedation according to their preferences. Our highly-trained surgeons have deep ties to Oregon and the Pacific Northwest. At Skyline, the sky is the limit!

Our state-of-art Oral Surgery practice is seeking a dynamic individual to join our Prosthodontic surgical team. This position can be full-time or part-time. Full time, you will work with our prosthodontist approximately 2 days a week and our oral surgeons 2 days a week.

CHAIRSIDE AND CLINICAL SUPPORT:

  • Provide anticipatory chairside assistance for exams, try-ins, deliveries, direct restorations, and implant prosthetic procedures (e.g., healing abutment exchanges, impression/scan appointments, provisionalization) for All-On-X procedures.
  • Maintain a clear, dry field using HVE/isolation systems; pass instruments and materials efficiently; manage retraction per provider direction.
  • Prepare rooms, trays, cassettes, and materials; verify implant/prosthetic components and torque drivers are available and in working order.
  • Deliver pre- and post-operative instructions within provider parameters and document education provided.

RADIOGRAPHY AND IMAGING:

  • Capture and process diagnostic images (periapical, bitewing, panoramic); assist with CBCT workflows and positioning as permitted.

PROSTHETIC AND LAB COORDINATION:

  • Prepare impression materials or intraoral scanning workflows; manage retraction cord, hemostasis, and bite registration as directed.
  • Complete and track lab prescriptions; receive, inspect, and stage cases (dentures, provisional).
  • Maintain an organized inventory of prosthetic and implant components (scan bodies, analogs, abutments, screws); record lot numbers and usage.

PATIENT EXPERIENCE AND CARE :

  • Greet, seat, and prepare patients; review medical updates and obtain/verify records as directed.
  • Accurately enter clinical notes, medical alerts, materials used, and imaging data in the practice management system.
  • Collaborate with Treatment Coordinators/Patient Education Consultants and Surgeons ‘
  • Assist dentists during examinations and procedures, including chairside assisting and four-handed dentistry techniques.
  • Prepare and sterilize instruments and equipment, ensuring adherence to infection control protocols.
  • Take and develop dental radiographs (X-rays) while following safety guidelines.
  • Maintain accurate medical records and documentation in compliance with HIPAA regulations.
  • Educate patients on oral hygiene, postoperative care, and treatment plans.
  • Manage patient appointments, including scheduling, confirming, and rescheduling as necessary.
  • Handle dental clinic administrative tasks such as managing EMR systems like Dentrix or Eaglesoft.
  • Support pediatric dentistry practices by creating a welcoming environment for young patients.
  • Monitor vital signs and assist in medical imaging when required.

SKILLS:

  • Proficiency in dental terminology and knowledge of anatomy related to dental health.
  • Experience with medical documentation and coding is preferred.
  • Familiarity with various dental specialties, including general dentistry, prosthodontics, endodontics, and pediatrics.
  • Having the training to operate 3D scanners for imaging purposes is a plus.
  • Strong understanding of aseptic techniques and infection control measures within a clinical setting.
  • Previous experience in a dental clinic environment is highly desirable.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills to communicate effectively with patients and team members alike.
