Job Description

The Ford Agency is seeking a Government Affairs Director to join a well-established technology focused trade association. This role will focus on furthering relationships and engaging with the White House and Congress and partnering with member companies on strategy and initiative execution. The successful candidate will have at least 4 years of government affairs experience either on the Hill or with a trade association. This role is an excellent opportunity to work with a focused and cutting edge team.

Responsibilities Include:

  • Build and lead coalitions with members on the Hill, and executive branch representatives
  • Implement campaigns and strategies to advance the mission and member goals
  • Track legislation, discussions, and developments around technology policy
  • Represent the association at committee hearings and events
  • Analyze legislative proposals, regulatory policies, and reports
  • Draft testimony, talking points and prepare presentations for stakeholders

Qualifications Include:

  • 4+ years of Hill, legislative, or policy focused trade association experience
  • Experience in technology, energy, intellectual property / copyright, artificial intelligence a plus
  • Experience building relationships with House and Senate Republicans
  • Professional writing and communication skills
  • Highly motivated and driven personality

Candidates for this position must be based in DC, MD, or VA area or have independent plans for relocation.
