Position Title : Director of Research and Development

Reports To: CEO

Position Summary: We are seeking an experienced and innovative Director of Research & Development (R&D) to lead our R&D Department for our trusted and highest quality nutraceutical, dietary supplement and personal care family of brands. This role will oversee the development of new products, improve existing formulations, and ensure compliance with industry regulations. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in nutritional science and product formulation, with a track record of driving innovation in the supplement industry.

Position Responsibility

Product Innovation & Development:

• Lead the R&D team in the formulation and development of dietary supplements, including vitamins, minerals, botanicals, and functional ingredients.
• Identify emerging trends, ingredients, and technologies to drive innovation in product development.
• Collaborate with marketing and sales teams to develop products that meet consumer demands and market trends.

Technical & Scientific Leadership:

• Oversee research, ingredient testing, and stability studies to ensure product efficacy and safety.
• Evaluate scientific literature and research to support claims substantiation and evidence-based formulations.
• Work closely with manufacturing and quality assurance teams to optimize product formulations for scalability and consistency.

Team Leadership & Cross-Functional Collaboration:

• Lead and mentor a team of scientists, researchers, and formulation experts.
• Work with supply chain and procurement teams to source high-quality, cost-effective raw materials.
• Collaborate with marketing, branding, and legal teams to align product development with company strategy.
• Prepares design plans for nutritional product development to properly manage, document the investigations and bring to conclusion R&D projects.
• Reviews and evaluates results and conclusions of laboratory work and pilot plant projects.
• Controls research expenditures within approved limitations.
• Prepares reports on progress of research and development work for review by Executive Leadership Team. Responsible to recommend the addition, expansion or discontinuance of projects as applicable.
• Consults with regulatory professionals within the company to ensure product development is consistent with stipulated guidelines and submission requirements.
• Consults and collaborates as necessary with other industry professionals in the relevant areas of product development, including consultants/professionals.

Qualifications & Experience:

• Masters or Ph.D. in Nutrition, Food Science, Biochemistry, or a related field.
• 10+ years of experience in R&D for dietary supplements and nutraceuticals.
• Strong knowledge of formulation science, and ingredient interactions.
• Expertise in FDA, cGMP, and international supplement regulations.
• Proven experience in leading R&D teams and managing multiple product development projects.
• Excellent problem-solving, leadership, and communication skills.
• Work with a passionate team committed to scientific integrity and high-quality products.
