Documentation & Quality Analyst - SAP (Contract)

About the Client:

The client is a retail organization undergoing a significant digital transformation, migrating from JD Edwards to SAP. This initiative encompasses wholesale supply chain operations and integrations with various surrounding applications including retail, ecommerce, WMS, and product creation systems. The position operates in a hybrid environment, with opportunities for both on-site collaboration in Portland and remote work options.

Position Summary:

We are seeking an experienced SAP Documentation & Quality Analyst to play a crucial role in documenting requirements for a comprehensive automation suite covering SAP implementations and integrations. This position will focus on translating complex business processes into clear, actionable documentation while ensuring quality standards are maintained throughout the system migration. This is an excellent opportunity for a detail-oriented professional who combines strong technical knowledge with exceptional documentation skills.

This role will be a W2 contract for 3 to 6 months with the likelihood of extension.

This role is not open to C2C or C2H.

Key Functions/Responsibilities:

Documentation Management:

• Collaborate with engineering on documentation of requirements for SAP implementation and integration with surrounding systems
• Create and maintain comprehensive documentation for business processes, system configurations, and integration points
• Develop standardized templates and documentation practices for consistent delivery
• Collaborate with business stakeholders to gather and document detailed requirements
• Ensure all documentation meets quality standards and is accessible to relevant stakeholders

Quality Assurance:

• Define and document test scenarios and test cases for SAP and integrated systems
• Review and validate business requirements to ensure completeness and clarity
• Identify and document potential risks and dependencies in the implementation process
• Maintain traceability between requirements, test cases, and business objectives
• Collaborate with QA teams to ensure documentation supports testing efforts

Stakeholder Collaboration:

• Work closely with cross-functional teams including Product, Engineering, and Business units
• Facilitate requirements gathering sessions with business stakeholders
• Present documentation updates and status reports to project stakeholders
• Partner with implementation teams to ensure documentation accuracy
• Support knowledge transfer sessions and training material development

Technical Expertise:

• Maintain deep understanding of SAP modules and functionalities, particularly in retail/wholesale environments
• Document integration points between SAP and surrounding applications
• Stay current with SAP best practices and documentation standards
• Support the documentation of system configuration and customization requirements

Experience:

• 3-5 years of hands-on experience with SAP systems, particularly in retail/wholesale environments
• 5+ years of experience in technical documentation and requirements gathering
• 2+ years of experience in Quality Assurance or Testing
• Demonstrated experience in retail business processes and supply chain operations

Preferred/Desirable:

• Experience with JD Edwards to SAP migration projects
• Knowledge of retail systems and ecommerce platforms
• Familiarity with Agile methodologies and System Integration Testing (SIT)
• Experience with documentation tools and platforms
• Background in retail or wholesale industries

Compensation & Benefits:

• Salary Range: $40 - $55 / hour depending on experience
