General Purpose

This position provides essential support to engineering, operations, field crews, and other stakeholders by locating, updating, and maintaining engineering drawings within the company’s Engineering Document Management System (EDMS). The role is also responsible for receiving and updating as-built drawings to reflect project specifications, field conditions, and company drafting standards. The position will be expected to become familiar with and adhere to company policies and procedures to ensure all drawings meet established requirements.

Responsibilities

  • Prepare drawings, material lists and plans to support customer load requests, capital projects and operations and maintenance (O&M) work.
  • Assist in design utilizing standards to update existing drawings.
  • Prepare as-built drawings for emergency work and provide support to drawings developed by third parties.
  • Create and modify drawings using AutoCAD Map 3D 2020 or newer.
  • Assist with AutoCAD designs by others and prepare CAD files for storage in company drawing record system.
  • Provide alternatives and recommendations to internal and external customers.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma or equivalent; or the equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • A minimum of two years of related experience in computer aided drawing.
  • Knowledge of engineering specifications and drawings, established drafting and design techniques
  • Design skills involving redesign and development of detailed drawings from engineering guidelines.
  • Knowledge of current technologies, tools, and systems.
  • Understanding of company policies, practices, and procedures.
  • Communication and interpersonal skills including the ability to consult and resolve internal and external customer issues.
  • Ability to work with all levels of an organization including people with different styles and backgrounds; ability to work as a member of a team.

Preferences

  • Experience with AutoCad 2020 andand AutoCAD Raster Design.
  • General EDMS knowledge.
  • Experience with and understanding of electrical one lines, schematics, panel schedules, etc.
