Job Description

Drywall Superintendent

Our client is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Drywall Superintendent to oversee and manage drywall installation projects from start to finish. The ideal candidate will have extensive knowledge of drywall construction, a strong ability to lead teams, and excellent problem-solving skills. This position requires coordination with project managers, subcontractors, and clients to ensure work is completed on time, within budget, and up to quality standards.

Responsibilities

  • Supervise and coordinate all drywall installation activities on-site, ensuring quality workmanship and adherence to project specifications.
  • Manage and lead drywall crews, subcontractors, and laborers, ensuring proper training and adherence to safety protocols.
  • Develop and maintain project schedules, ensuring efficient workflow and timely completion of drywall work.
  • Collaborate with project managers, estimators, and other stakeholders to ensure accurate material procurement and cost control.
  • Conduct regular site inspections to enforce quality control, safety regulations, and company policies.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve any issues related to drywall installation, including material defects, schedule delays, or labor shortages.
  • Ensure compliance with OSHA and company safety guidelines, conducting safety meetings and enforcing best practices.
  • Maintain clear and accurate project documentation, including daily reports, work progress updates, and material inventory.
  • Communicate effectively with clients, general contractors, and other trades to coordinate work and resolve conflicts.

Requirements

  • Minimum 5+ years of experience in drywall installation and supervision.
  • Strong understanding of commercial and residential drywall systems, including framing, hanging, taping, and finishing.
  • Proven leadership skills with the ability to manage multiple teams and subcontractors.
  • Excellent organizational and problem-solving abilities.
  • Ability to read and interpret blueprints, project specifications, and construction documents.
  • Knowledge of OSHA safety regulations and construction best practices.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.
  • Proficiency in project scheduling software and Microsoft Office Suite is a plus.
  • Valid driver’s license and ability to travel to job sites as needed.
