Facilities Monitoring Center Specialist - North America

Location: San Antonio, TX * Full-time

A global data center developer supporting hyperscale and enterprise customers is expanding its centralized operations team in the US. The company delivers large-scale, high-availability facilities across multiple regions and is continuing to grow its monitoring and incident response capabilities.

Role Overview

This position is part of a 24/7 operations group responsible for overseeing critical facility conditions across several campuses. The specialist will monitor building systems, support incident response, manage ticket workflows, and assist with change and maintenance activities to ensure consistent uptime and operational performance.

Key Responsibilities

  • Oversee building and environmental alarms through BMS and similar monitoring platforms.

  • Escalate issues, coordinate with on-site engineers, and support incident calls when required.

  • Track planned maintenance, confirm start/finish of work, and communicate updates internally.

  • Manage service tickets, ensure proper routing, and follow requests through closure.

  • Contribute to continuous improvement efforts within monitoring, communication, and response processes.

  • Maintain logs, support change management reviews, and gather data for root cause analysis.

  • Collaborate closely with operations, security, and regional teams to ensure alignment.

Qualifications

  • Degree in Engineering, Facilities, or a related field preferred.

  • 5-7+ years in data center or critical facilities operations.

  • Strong understanding of mechanical, electrical, and IT infrastructure.

  • Experience with change/incident/problem management and monitoring tools.

  • Strong communication and coordination skills.

  • Certifications such as ITIL, PMP, or similar are beneficial.
