Job Description

Facilities Supervisor

Direct Reports:

  • Facility Technicians, Maintenance Leads

Primary Function:

This role leads the design, planning, and execution of building construction and refurbishment projects, ensuring optimal space utilization and alignment with organizational needs. This role is responsible for overseeing daily maintenance operations and implementing systems and processes that maintain the integrity, safety, and reliability of the facility's infrastructure.

Duties and Responsibilities

  • Lead facility design and refurbishment initiatives to support space planning and resource optimization.
  • Evaluate existing facilities for current and future space requirements and conduct feasibility assessments.
  • Develop layout plans, technical specifications, and ensure compliance with regulations and internal standards.
  • Direct the development of labor, materials, and service cost estimates for budgeting and contracting.
  • Establish and maintain project plans, timelines, and governance frameworks to ensure successful execution.
  • Ensure timely resolution of work orders and track maintenance activities for quality, cost, and service standards.
  • Implement and oversee preventative maintenance programs and safety procedures.
  • Train staff on maintenance best practices, safety standards, and compliance with local laws.
  • Supervise and manage contractors and vendors engaged in facility projects.
  • Manage day-to-day building operations, including HVAC, electrical, plumbing, mechanical, and safety systems.
  • Perform other duties as requested or assigned.

Relationship Management

  • Collaborate cross-functionally with internal departments to align facility initiatives with organizational goals.
  • Manage relationships with external contractors, regulatory agencies, and utility providers.

Required Education

  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Facilities Management, Construction Management, or a related field.

Required Experience

  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in facility operations, including construction and maintenance. 1-3 years of supervisory experience required.
