Responsibilities of the
Field Service Technician include, but are not limited to:
- Must maintain a safety awareness attitude at all times
- Receive, disassemble, inspect, repair, fabricate, paint, package/prep a variety of centrifugal, gear, diaphragm, positive displacement, reciprocating and other types of pumps as well as well as other related rotating equipment
- Safely load, unload, and move equipment as needed with crane or forklift
- Field service work – must be available for occasional weekend work
Qualifications of the
Field Service Technician include, but are not limited to:
- Some experience in pump and or rotating equipment repairs as well as field service work preferred, including, but not limited to:
- Ability to read sectional and machine drawings; Read and comprehend Original Equipment Manufacturer manuals
- Disassembly, inspection, and evaluation of machine failure modes; Ability to write a detailed evaluation report identifying all necessary repairs and/or replacement parts needed
- Assembly, pneumatic pressure testing of assembled equipment, painting of finished repair and final inspection
- Field Service Work - Removal and Instillation of equipment, shaft alignment, seal changes, and preventative maintenance
- Safely use hand, power, pneumatic and hydraulic tools
- Familiarity/some experience manual lathes, milling machines and other typical machine shop equipment
- Experience with Pneumatic and Hydrostatic testing of parts and equipment
- Experience with Mechanical seals preferred including, but not limited to ability to read and understand mechanical seal drawings, mechanical seal removal, installation, and pneumatic pressure testing when necessary
- Ability to properly use various types of precision measuring equipment
- Experience and ability to safely use lifting devices such as cranes, forklifts, and rigging
- Welding knowledge, skills, and experience preferred

Additional Information Physical Demand: Able to lift 50 lbs. unassisted
Working Conditions: Open air shop and/or field work
Training/Certifications: N/A Shift Time/Overtime: Day shift (7:00AM – 3:30PM) Overtime is sometimes required
Travel: Occasionally as needed
Education: High School Diploma or GED
