Source One is a consulting services company and we’re currently looking for the following individual to work as a consultant to our direct client, a major utilities company serving NY and NJ.
Job Title: Financial Analyst I (Contractor)
Rate: $39/hr (W-2)
The contract duration is initially 8 months with potential for extension
Work Schedule: hybrid: on-site 2 days/week
Job Responsibilities:
- Responsible for working with the client to prepare and create the annual cost plan in SAP and PCM specifically focused on O&M and Capital costs.
- Support the month end, quarter end and year-end closing processes. These can include creating and maintaining journal entries, conducting actual vs. plan variance analysis and creating ad-hoc analyses.
- Preparation of reports or analyses specifically requested by the client.
- Assist in analyzing results and identify areas of opportunities for efficiency and cost savings.
- Supporting Regulatory filings through the preparation of schedules and responses to discovery requests.
- Supporting the implementation of a new billing methodology for the Service Company Department.
- Assisting in budget preparation.
- Supporting improvements to the SAP CO module.
Job Specific Qualifications
- Bachelor's Degree in Finance, Accounting, Engineering or related field
- Desire to be challenged, expand professional knowledge and take on more responsibility over time
- Good planning and organizing skills
- Strong analytical, business and communication skills
- Creative problem solving skills
- Ability to interact with all levels of management
- Experience with Excel or databases
