ABOUT THE ROLE

We are seeking an experienced and strategic Director of Sales to lead the sales efforts for a premier boutique hotel in Boston. This role requires a deep understanding of the Boston hospitality market, strong industry connections, and the ability to develop creative sales strategies tailored to a unique luxury property. The ideal candidate will have a proven track record in driving revenue growth, securing corporate and group business, and positioning a boutique hotel for long-term success in a competitive market.

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Develop and execute innovative sales strategies specific to a boutique luxury hotel to drive revenue across corporate, group, and leisure segments.
  • Leverage an in-depth knowledge of the Boston market to identify business opportunities and build relationships with key clients, including corporate accounts, travel agencies, and event planners.
  • Lead and mentor the sales team, setting performance goals and ensuring they achieve revenue targets.
  • Establish and maintain strong relationships with key decision-makers in the hospitality, corporate, and tourism sectors.
  • Collaborate with marketing to create targeted campaigns that enhance the hotel’s brand presence and drive bookings.
  • Monitor market trends, competitor activity, and customer needs to adjust sales strategies accordingly.
  • Represent the hotel at industry events, trade shows, and networking functions to expand business opportunities.
  • Work closely with revenue management and operations to ensure optimal pricing and occupancy strategies.
  • Prepare detailed sales reports, forecasts, and business development plans for senior leadership.

QUALIFICATIONS

Bachelor's degree in Business, Hospitality Management, or a related field preferred.

REQUIRED SKILLS

  • Minimum of 5 years of sales leadership experience in the hospitality industry, preferably in the boutique or luxury hotel sector.
  • Strong understanding of the Boston market, including corporate, group, and leisure travel segments.
  • Established network of corporate and travel industry contacts within the Boston area.
  • Demonstrated ability to develop and implement successful sales strategies that drive revenue growth.
  • Exceptional negotiation, communication, and relationship-building skills.
  • Strong analytical skills with experience in revenue forecasting and performance tracking.
  • Ability to lead and develop a high-performing sales team.
