Through education, effective litigation, and collaboration, we tirelessly work to expand access to justice for all, identify community needs, and challenge systems, laws, and policies that adversely affect the underserved and marginalized.

Position Summary: Our Housing and Consumer Unit advocates on behalf of qualifying low-income community members facing issues such as eviction, foreclosure, and debt. We are currently seeking a full-time Staff Attorney to join our team and provide high-quality legal services to our vulnerable clients.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

• Representation in all areas of law, including housing, landlord/tenant disputes, evictions, foreclosures, utilities, public benefits, consumer, and civil matters
• Providing legal advice, brief service, and full court representation
• Preparing and delivering client and community education
• Conducting intake and outreach
• Appearing in administrative and judicial forums
• Active bar participation
• Special legal and community projects

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

• Member in good standing of the Florida Bar Association
• Awareness and sensitivity to the needs of the populations we serve
• Ability to manage a large caseload and function professionally in a highly stressful environment
• Strong organizational and time management skills
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team, including other attorneys, support staff, volunteers, and community partners
• Excellent written and communication skills
• Multilingual abilities are a plus
