Job Description

Key Responsibilities

Planning and Organizing:

  • Direction provided by the Corporate Sales Manager, execute a sales strategy for penetrating accounts and maximizing sales, e.g., prospecting, cold calling, identifying key decision makers and determining buying criteria and promoting plastic custom manufacturing and distribution services.
  • Develop and manage your sales plan effectively by setting daily/weekly/monthly goals and objectives, prioritizing tasks, utilizing your time effectively and efficiently, and taking full advantage of available resources.
  • Qualifying leads based on customer needs, budget, and project timelines, either follow up on leads yourself or in certain situations, hand off qualified leads to the outside sales team for further engagement and closure of opportunities.

Relationship Building:

  • Build trust and credibility with customers and coworkers.
  • Learning and engaging the customer to understand the process of what they value, e.g., strategic, and investigative questioning.
  • Assist your customer with finding solutions that will help them achieve their goals and added value.
  • Proactively engage with potential and existing customers through phone, email, and other communication channels to promote plastic custom manufacturing and distribution services

  • Develop and maintain strong relationships with customers, acting as a point of contact for inquiries, quotes, orders, and product information.
  • Collaborate with the outside sales team to coordinate strategies, share insights, and ensure a smooth transition of high-potential leads for in-person meetings or advanced sales processes.
  • Work closely with engineering, production, and logistics teams to ensure accurate product specifications, timely deliveries for the best customer experience.
  • Assist in managing the entire sales cycle from prospecting and lead generation to order placement and follow-up for smaller or transactional clients.
  • Provide the customer an excellent experience which includes learning everything you can about them so you can tailor your service approach to their needs and buying habits.
  • Courtesy and timely follow up are key.
  • Maintain detailed records of sales activities, opportunities, and customer interactions in the CRM system.
  • Manage customer inquiries and resolve issues related to orders, delivery, and product quality in a timely and professional manner.

Product Knowledge:

  • Understanding of plastic industry, and products.
  • Stay informed on industry trends, market conditions, and competitors to identify new business opportunities and provide insights into the sales and marketing teams.
  • Participate in sales meetings, training sessions to enhance product knowledge and sales skills.

Communication Skills:

  • Effective verbal communication skills, e.g., speaking clearly, listening attentively, building rapport.
  • Ability to write clearly and succinctly in a variety of communication settings, e.g., business letters and emails.
  • Ability to effectively persuade by asking intelligent business questions to determine customer needs.

Competencies and skills

Experience in B2B inside sales, preferably in plastic manufacturing (thermoforming, machining, fabrication) custom extrusion, or distribution industry is a plus .

Knowledge and competence in the major elements of inside sales including cold calling, business development, customer qualification, and customer acquisition.

  • Excellent written/verbal communication and presentation skills.
  • Strong computer skills to include proficiency in Microsoft Word, Outlook and PowerPoint and CRM Software.
  • Taking initiative with superior problem solving and negotiation skills.
  • Effectively prioritize sales efforts and activities.
  • Excellent organization and time management skills are essential.
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced, team environment.
