Under the direction of the Community Resource Manager (CRM) C.I., the Jewish Chaplain provides religious services, and at times supervises varied faith groups. The Chaplain interviews and counsels incarcerated people on ethical and moral problems and spiritual matters; prepares and conducts religious services and administers religious rites; organizes and instructs classes in religious ethics and sacred music; supervises the arranging of programs conducted in the institution by visiting religious and allies groups; counsels with incarcerated individuals regarding family problems; serves when designated, as a member of or consultant to classification committees; works with incarcerated groups and incarcerated people’s activities. Provides and approves Kosher meals for the population. Provides supervision to assigned incarcerated workers. Assists in the overall cleanliness of all chapels.
