GROWTH MEDIA TECHNICIAN RESPONSIBILITIES INCLUDE, BUT ARE NOT LIMITED TO

• Basal and Growth Media preparation and filtering.
• Buffer and reagent preparation.
• Cleaning of glassware, autoclaving, inventory, and stocking.
• Maintenance and organization of accurate records.
• Labeling and sealing of products.
• Quality Control testing.

GROWTH MEDIA TECHNICIAN CANDIDATE REQUIREMENTS

• A B.S. degree in cell biology, chemistry, or closely related field.
• 1-2 years laboratory experience is preferred.
• Possess a great work ethic.
• Track record of completing tasks in precise and punctual fashion.
• Possess manual dexterity and be able to carry out aseptic work.
• Be able to carry out scientific calculations necessary for determining molarity, percentages, cell doubling time, cell concentration, seeding density, etc.
• Working knowledge of standard laboratory procedures and safety.
• Working knowledge of laboratory equipment (i.e. pH meter, scale, pipetting).
• Comfortable with what can sometimes be repetitive work.
• Extremely neat and detail-oriented.
• Candidate must be a team player and have good communication skills.
• Candidate must be organized and have the ability to closely follow direction.
• Basic computer skills (Word, Excel, Google searches).
