The Role

We have a brand new opportunity for a Lead People Business Partner to take a seat at the table as part of the People and Business leadership teams, and drive the success of Aptia US.

The successful candidate will be able to act as trusted advisor to the US business and as an advocate for the business with the global Centers of Expertise, and as an integrator of the People Services and expertise for the US business.

This role will be based out of our new site in Orlando, Florida and be based from the office a minimum of 4 days per week.

Here’s what you’ll be doing:

  • Act as a trusted advisor to the CPO and U.S. Executive Leadership team, aligning People initiatives with business objectives
  • Gain a deep understanding of Aptia Group’s U.S. business strategy and priorities to proactively advise and support leadership in making people-centric decisions
  • Playing a key part of the stand up of the Orlando site, partnering with the business and CoEs on talent strategies, and building a positive and productive working culture
  • Drive the continuous development of our colleagues’ capabilities and expertise to meet future market needs, from career management to leadership development
  • Deliver people-centric transformation of our business as we continuously evolve our products and technology offering
  • Partner with business leaders to facilitate organizational design and change initiatives that support the evolving needs of the U.S. market
  • Play a key role in M&A activity including due diligence and integration work
  • Oversee the delivery of performance management and reward processes for the U.S., ensuring alignment with global frameworks and the Global Head of Performance and Reward
  • Drive initiatives that promote a high-performance culture, using a proactive approach to managing organizational change
  • Lead and manage the U.S. employee relations strategy, fostering an environment of engagement, satisfaction and retention
  • Collaborate with the People Analytics Manager to provide data-backed insights, metrics and analyses that inform leadership and enhance people-related strategies

This position will suit an experienced HR leader, both able to build and operate at speed, comfortable forming trusted relationships with business leaders and who can collaborate effectively as part of a global People team.

This role will manage one Junior Business Partner and so will suit someone who can lead and influence strategically while also enjoying hands-on operational delivery of an effective People function.

Here’s what we’re looking for:

  • An experienced HR leader, with broad experience ideally gained within fast-moving, matrixed, transformation focused global organizations
  • Outstanding relationship building skills, able to build trust and credibility quickly with senior leaders, driving effective collaboration across functions and geographies
  • Strong understanding of US labor and employment laws, able to apply this with a balance of pragmatism while balancing risk to the business
  • Experience leading businesses through periods of change and transformation at scale and complexity
  • Ideally experience with due diligence and post-merger integration workstreams in an M&A context
  • Experience partnering effectively with COEs as part of a global leadership team
  • Excellent communication skills, able to flex this as needed across all levels within the organization
  • Someone who can work at a fast pace, with high-energy and who is proactive and solution focused
  • Experience working with and building offshore business models would be highly desirable
  • Able to travel to the Boston office, and other sites as needed on an ad hoc basis
