Job Title: Legal Assistant
Job Overview:
We are seeking a highly organized and detail-oriented Legal Assistant to support a busy litigation team during evening hours. This fully remote, permanent/direct-hire position is open to candidates located in CST or PST time zones. The role involves assisting attorneys with a variety of administrative, calendaring, document management, and litigation support functions to ensure smooth operations during off-hours.
Compensation:
• $80,000 – $90,000/year
Work Schedule:
• Monday to Friday, 4:30 PM – 11:30 PM CT (with occasional flexibility for extended hours)
Key Responsibilities of the Legal Assistant:
• Proactively manage attorney dockets and ensure timely tracking of court deadlines
• Draft, proofread, and format legal documents including motions, discovery, correspondence, and memos
• Support briefing process including preparation of Tables of Contents and Authorities
• Electronically file documents across federal and state court systems
• Maintain case files and organize litigation documents within internal systems
• Coordinate attorney calendars, schedule meetings and depositions, and arrange travel
• Prepare and submit attorney time entries and expense reports
• Provide administrative support for legal and client events, including agenda creation and logistics
• Collaborate with litigation teams to prioritize and complete time-sensitive tasks efficiently
Qualifications and Skills for the Legal Assistant:
• Minimum 3 years of litigation experience required
• Experience in intellectual property law preferred
• Excellent grammar, proofreading, and writing skills
• Strong organizational skills and extreme attention to detail
• Ability to work independently in a fast-paced, remote environment
• Strong communication and time management skills
• Familiarity with legal filing systems and document management tools
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint)
• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience preferred
• Must be able to work the assigned evening shift and be flexible with extended hours as needed
