Job Description

LHH is partnering with a NorCal-based litigation boutique to identify a Mid-Senior Associate to join its team. The firm focuses on complex business litigation, securities matters, and internal investigations—including work with venture-backed companies and clients facing DOJ scrutiny.

This role is open in San Jose or San Francisco, with remote flexibility. The firm offers a highly collaborative environment, early responsibility, and clear promotion pathways.

Key Responsibilities

  • Serve as lead or second-chair on high-stakes business litigation, securities matters, and investigations
  • Develop strategy and manage all phases of litigation (pleadings, discovery, depositions, dispositive motions, trial prep)
  • Engage directly with clients, including VCs, startups, and companies navigating DOJ or regulatory exposure
  • Contribute to firm growth through client development, mentoring, and cross-practice collaboration
  • Take ownership of matters and help shape the future of a growing litigation boutique

Qualifications

  • 4+ years of experience in business litigation, securities litigation, or internal investigations
  • Prior experience at an Am Law firm or elite litigation boutique strongly preferred
  • Exceptional legal writing and analytical skills; journal or law review experience preferred
  • California Bar admission required
  • Team-oriented mindset with the desire to grow into firm leadership

Compensation & Benefits

  • Base salary: $200,000 – $300,000+ (depending on experience)
  • Bonus: Discretionary, typically $15K–$30K based on overall firm contribution
  • Benefits: Full medical, long-term disability, 401(k), gym access, paid parking
  • 1900-hour target , including client development, CLEs, and firm events
  • Caltrain-accessible office with flexibility to work remotely for the right candidate

Team & Practice Highlights

  • All attorneys come from Big Law or elite litigation backgrounds
  • No hierarchy — the firm promotes from within, and all attorneys are hands-on
  • Flat structure with true collaboration and transparency
  • Strong mentorship and direct partner access from day one
  • Open to building out the San Francisco presence if the right person is hired

This is an excellent opportunity for a mid-senior litigator to step into a fantastic role at a high-performing boutique that offers real ownership, career mobility, and a team-driven culture.
