Job Overview:

As a Luxury Watch Polisher, you will be responsible for meticulously restoring, refining, and polishing luxury watches to their original brilliance. You will work with high-end timepieces, ensuring that every watch meets the highest standards of quality and craftsmanship. This role requires excellent attention to detail, a passion for fine watches, and a deep understanding of the materials and techniques used in the polishing and restoration of premium timepieces.

 

Primary Responsibilities :

  • Polishing & Restoration: Polish, buff, and restore luxury watches, including cases, bracelets, and bezels, to a flawless factory finish, while preserving the integrity of the watch’s materials.
  • Surface Preparation: Carefully prepare the surface of watches for polishing, removing scratches, scuffs, and other imperfections without damaging the original factory structure.
  • Understanding of luxury timepiece brands’ standards for factory finished details.
  • Materials Handling: Work with a variety of high-end materials such as stainless steel, gold, platinum, titanium, and ceramic, ensuring each material is polished according to its unique factory characteristics.
  • Detailing: Ensure all intricate details, such as engravings, logos, and fine features, are properly protected during the polishing process and remain clear and undisturbed.
  • Use of Tools: Operate and maintain professional polishing tools and equipment, including polishing machines, handheld buffers, and manual abrasives, with a high level of precision.
  • Quality Control: Perform meticulous checks to ensure the final product meets the brand’s high standards of quality, detailing, and factory finish before returning the watch to the client or production line.
  • Collaborate with Watchmakers: Work closely with master watchmakers and restoration specialists to ensure the polished components are integrated back into fully functional timepieces.
  • Client Interaction: When applicable, assist in communicating with clients about the status of their watches and offer expertise on care and maintenance.
  • Maintain Work Area: Keep a clean and organized work environment, ensuring all tools, products, and watches are stored and handled appropriately.

Requirements :

  • Experience: Prior experience in polishing, restoration, or watchmaking, particularly with luxury or high-end watches, is highly preferred.
  • Attention to Detail: Ability to spot minute imperfections and polish with a high level of precision.
  • Technical Skills: Proficiency in using specialized polishing and buffing tools, as well as hand-finishing techniques.
  • Knowledge of Materials: A strong understanding of the various materials used in luxury watches and their specific care requirements.
  • Fine Motor Skills: Excellent hand-eye coordination and dexterity to work on intricate and delicate components.
  • Work Ethic: Ability to work independently or as part of a team, with a strong focus on quality and perfection.
  • Time Management: Capability to handle multiple tasks efficiently, with excellent attention to deadlines and precision.
  • Passion for Watches: A deep interest in horology and a genuine appreciation for luxury timepieces is a strong asset.

 

As Desired :

  • Experience with polishing luxury or high-end watches from recognized brands such as Rolex, Patek Philippe, Audemars Piguet, Omega, etc.
  • Certification in horology or watchmaking is a plus.
  • Experience with other watch restoration processes such as cleaning, movement repair, or assembly.

 

Compensation :

  • Salary range: $70,000-$80,000
