Job Title: Mail Center Specialist

Location: San Francisco, CA (Onsite at 2 offices in SFO, CA 94105)

Contract Duration : 6 months (02/10/2025 to 08/08/2025) possibility of extension or transitioning to a permanent position.

Pay Rate : $25-$27/hr on W2

Schedule: Monday-Friday, 8:30am-5:00pm (40 hours per week)

Overview:

We are seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented Mail Center Specialist to join our team in San Francisco. This role involves managing mail and package deliveries , providing excellent customer service , and maintaining organized and efficient mail center operations . The ideal candidate will be proficient in basic technology, possess strong communication skills, and be capable of lifting up to 30lbs.

Key Responsibilities:

- Accept deliveries from carriers and log packages into the internal system .

- Transfer packages between buildings .

- Follow and respond to internal communications within Slack and email.

- Assist at the customer-facing mail center where employees pick up mail, ship outgoing mail, and receive assistance for other requests.

- Create shipping labels.

- Respond to tickets in the internal system.

- Complete mail and ticket audits.

- Organize and keep mail center spaces clean and orderly.

Daily Overview:

A typical day for the Mail Center Specialist will involve:

Starting the day by accepting and logging deliveries from carriers.

Transferring packages between the two buildings .

Responding to internal communications via Slack and email .

Assisting employees at the mail center with picking up mail, shipping outgoing mail, and addressing other requests.

Creating shipping labels and responding to tickets in the system .

Conducting mail and ticket audits.

Ensuring the mail center spaces are organized and clean.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • -Sort and deliver incoming mail and packages.
  • -Log all packages into system
  • - Receive occasional freight deliveries
  • -Coordinate and communicate with internal stakeholders via Slack.
  • -Ship customer packages using FedEx and other shipping applications .
  • -Requires physical labor and the ability to lift up to 30lbs.
  • -Transport mail and packages among all buildings using a variety of tools (e.g. carts, hand trucks, etc.).
  • -Support employees in all mail services needs via all communication channels (e.g. email, phone, face-to-face, applications, etc.).
  • -Use internal applications for package and mail management.

Skills

  • -Excellent interpersonal communication skills and customer service experience preferred.
  • -Proficient with Google Drive (e.g. Gmail, Gcal, Docs)
  • -Computer skills include typing minimum of 30 words per minute and using basic applications such as word documents, spreadsheets, email, presentations, etc.
  • -Ability to take direction and follow oral and written instructions
  • -Motivated, Self-Starter
  • -Good writing, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
  • -Exhibits strong attention to detail
  • -0-2 years experience.

Additional Information:

- This role is not fully remote and requires the employee to be onsite.

- The candidate will work in the Pacific Time Zone (PST).

- There is a possibility of extension or transitioning to a permanent position.

- The team is small and operates out of two buildings. The role involves data entry, customer service, and physical tasks such as lifting and deliveries. The ideal candidate should be confident with technology, capable of independent work, and effective in team collaboration.
