Master Tailor Job Description

Alterations Specialists of New York is looking for a Master Tailor

 

We are looking for a dynamic professional Master Tailor, distinguished by their charisma, technical prowess, and professional integrity. This role will include sewing on the machine, and supporting the tailor shop manager. This is a full time role in New York.

Responsibilities

Machine Production and Sewing

• Demonstrate that you are meeting personal production targets
• Cultivate proficiency with mens, womens, and bridal alterations as well as alterations of difficult fabrics 
• Provide some guidance for specialty fittings where the work would be done by you

Experience

• 5-10 years of alteration tailoring experience required

This is a mid- to late career role. 

• Range is from $18/hour- $35/hour or Salary $55K- $80K yearly*
  • Standard/Basic Tailors are between $18-$24/hour
  • Intermediate from $25-$30/hour
  • Advanced $30-$35/hour

*This is based on skill level and classification of tailoring work
