Akkodis is seeking a CNC Optical Technician - Diamond Turning with a client located in Keene, NH. Looking for someone who has experience operating high-precision diamond turning machines, will not do a lot of programming but only a few modifications.

Pay Range: $38/hr - $45/hr (The rate may be negotiable based on experience, education, geographic location, and other factors.)

Shifts Availability:

• 1st Shift: Monday–Thursday, 5:00 AM – 3:30 PM
• 2nd Shift: Monday–Thursday, 3:15 PM – 1:45 AM

• We are interested in candidates who are familiar with setting up and operating any of the following machines:
• Precitech DT200, DT250, and DT350
• Nanotech (Moore) DT250

JOB SUMMARY:

We utilize DIFFSYS software for generating complex tool paths for our diamond turning machines, which produce high precision optical surfaces, such as aspheres and diffractives. The machinsts work from a base DIFFSYS program created by our engineering team and adjust program pararameters (such speeds and feeds) to dial in the setup for a job.

What You’ll Do:

• Set up, operate, and maintain CNC diamond turning machines to support production goals.
• Interpret engineering drawings and follow standardized work instructions and lean manufacturing processes.
• Use metrology tools to inspect and verify that optical components meet exacting specifications.
• Perform manual cleaning of optical surfaces using appropriate solvents and materials.
• Collect and analyze production data using basic math and statistical tools.
• Maintain a clean and safe work environment, adhering to all safety protocols.

Preferred Qualifications:

• 3+ years of experience in machining or CNC production environments
• Proficiency in CNC equipment setup and operation
• Experience with precision measurements on optical or mechanical components
