Job Title: Pharmacy Technician
Location: East Elmhurst (Rikers Island), NY 11370-1381
Schedule: Monday to Friday, 1:00 PM – 9:00 PM (40 hours/week)
Duration: 13+ weeks with possible extensions
Pay: $30 - $33 per hour
Job Summary:
Under the direct supervision of a registered pharmacist, the Pharmacy Technician will assist in the preparation and distribution of medications and maintain drug inventory in compliance with federal, state, and local laws. The role requires rotating between satellite locations, tours, and shifts to meet departmental needs, with a strong focus on accuracy and attention to detail.
Key Responsibilities:
Assist pharmacists with the preparation and distribution of medications.
Maintain and manage drug inventory.
Adhere to Federal, State, and local laws and regulatory requirements related to pharmacy practice.
Rotate assignments, tours, and shifts as needed to support departmental operations.
Receive, return, and deliver medications, medication carts, and supplies to various hospital areas.
Operate pharmacy equipment safely and properly.
Perform duties with accuracy and within specified timeframes.
Education & Licensing:
Must be licensed as a Registered Pharmacy Technician by the New York State Education Department (NYSED).
Additional Information :
Work schedule: 5 days per week, 8 hours per day
Duration: Initial assignment of 13+ weeks with the possibility of extension
