Job Description

Pay: $90,000.00 - $140,000.00 per year

Note: This position requires employees to be on-site five days a week at the Charlotte, NC office.

Note: The qualified candidate for this position must have at least 3 years of experience in HVAC/mechanical estimating within the construction industry.

Job Description

  • Prepare accurate cost estimates for mechanical systems, including HVAC, plumbing, and fire protection
  • Review blueprints, technical specifications, and scopes of work to determine requirements
  • Conduct material takeoffs and ensure precise quantities are included in project bids
  • Source and evaluate supplier and subcontractor quotes to build competitive proposals
  • Provide value engineering recommendations to balance cost, quality, and project goals
  • Maintain knowledge of current labor rates, material costs, and market conditions
  • Collaborate closely with project managers, engineers, and architects to refine project details
  • Submit comprehensive bid packages and assist with post-bid activities such as cost tracking and change orders

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Construction Management, or related field; equivalent experience considered
  • 3+ years of HVAC/mechanical estimating experience in the construction industry
  • Strong knowledge of mechanical systems and installation processes
  • Proficiency with estimating software (FAS EST, Bluebeam, or similar) and Microsoft Excel
  • Ability to interpret technical drawings and specifications
  • Strong communication, organizational, and problem-solving skills
