Process Engineer – Reliability

Local manufacturing company needs a Process Engineer/Manager to optimize manufacturing processes, support product line, and maintain the reliability of heavy manufacturing equipment. The company makes metal products but will consider people who come from heavy manufacturing such as pulp and paper, lumber, primary metals, mining, glass, plastics.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Working with a safety-first approach, lead manufacturing projects, coordinating both internal and external resources to meet KPI’s.
• Champion continuous improvement and lean manufacturing ideas that improve production costs, volumes, and quality.
• Work on capital improvement projects, machinery reliability, plant layout.
• Provide engineering support to operations, supervise production and shipping supervisors.
• Coordinate with maintenance on machinery installations, maintenance and repair
• Implement ideas for robotics and automation.

REQUIREMENTS:

• Bachelors' degree in mechanical engineering, chemical engineering, metallurgy, or similar.
• Ten years of experience developing manufacturing methods, procedures, processes in a production environment.
• Must have significant management experience, supervising maintenance and operations supervisors in a heavy machinery environment.
• In-depth knowledge of machinery reliability, maintenance, KPI’s related to production consistency.
• Experience with continuous improvement, lean principles, and value stream mapping in a manufacturing environment.
• Knowledge about root cause analysis on non-conforming products
