Compensation Structure:

First 90 Days (Training Period):

  • Base pay: $4,333.33 per month (based on a $25/hour rate)
  • Commission: 2.5% on qualifying sales

After 90 Days (Commission-Only):

  • No base salary
  • Commission increases to 5% on qualifying sales

Job Description  

As a Sales Account Manager at PLUGplay HEMP, you will be responsible for managing and growing client accounts by maintaining strong relationships, understanding customer needs, and ensuring high levels of satisfaction. Reporting to the Sales Manager, you will serve as the primary point of contact for assigned accounts, overseeing the full sales cycle from onboarding to order fulfillment and post-sale support. Your ability to manage client expectations, deliver exceptional service, and drive consistent revenue will be key to your success in this role. 

This role requires extensive travel throughout the Midwest and East Coast, including states such as Texas, Florida, Georgia, North Carolina, and New Hampshire. Candidates must be comfortable with frequent travel.

Key Responsibilities  

Account Management  

  1. • Serving as the main liaison between PLUGplay HEMP and assigned client accounts. 
  2. • Building and maintaining strong, long-term relationships with clients. 
  3. • Understanding client needs, preferences, and business goals to offer tailored solutions. 
  4. • Manage and grow relationships with existing clients in the cannabis space. 
  5. • Visit retail accounts at least once a month to maintain strong relationships and assess brand presence. 
  6. • Strategize with accounts to increase sales and brand visibility. 
  7. • Treat store partners with respect and care—like you would a good friend. 
  8. • Deliver excellent customer service and support throughout the sales cycle. 

Order Coordination and Fulfillment  

  1. • Processing and managing client orders, ensuring accuracy and timely fulfillment. 
  2. • Collaborating with internal teams such as logistics and operations to ensure seamless execution. 
  3. • Tracking delivery schedules and addressing any changes, delays, or issues proactively. 
  4. • Place customer orders accurately and on time. 
  5. • Collaborate with internal teams to ensure smooth order fulfillment and top-tier service. 
  6. • Report any store-level issues or feedback to internal teams for fast resolution. 

Sales Growth and Retention  

  1. • Identifying opportunities for upselling, cross-selling, and account expansion. 
  2. • Presenting new products or offerings to clients and supporting them through the decision-making process. 
  3. • Ensuring client satisfaction to foster long-term loyalty and repeat business. 
  4. • Send out weekly product menus and keep clients informed about new and upcoming products. 
  5. • Identify and pursue new sales opportunities to expand the account base. 
  6. • Identify opportunities for promotions and implement them where appropriate. 
  7. • Conduct in-store demos as needed to educate and engage customers. 

Reporting and Record Keeping  

  1. • Maintaining up-to-date records of all client communications, sales activities, and account details in CRM systems. 
  2. • Preparing regular account status reports for the Sales Manager. 
  3. • Monitoring sales performance and client feedback to identify trends and improvement areas. 
  4. • Track sales activity, meet or exceed targets, and contribute to overall team success. 
  5. • Learn and utilize relevant software platforms such as Cannabiz, Pistil, BDSA, and others to support sales and reporting. 

Internal Collaboration  

  1. • Coordinating with the Sales Manager and other departments to ensure client needs are being met. 
  2. • Communicating client feedback, product requests, and service concerns to the appropriate teams. 
  3. • Supporting marketing initiatives and product rollouts through direct client engagement. 
  4. • Participate in in-house marketing initiatives and campaigns when required. 

Brand Representation  

  1. • Represent the brand with integrity and professionalism at all times. 
  2. • Maintain a clean and polished appearance when meeting with customers or attending events. 
  3. • Ensure brand shelf space is eye-level, well-stocked, and visually appealing. 

Qualifications  

• Bachelor’s degree in Business, Sales, Communications, or a related field preferred. 

• 2–4 years of experience in account management, client services, or a sales-related role. 

• Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with a customer-first mindset. 

• Ability to manage multiple accounts and prioritize tasks effectively. 

• Experience using CRM platforms and other sales tracking tools. 

• Detail-oriented, organized, and proactive in resolving issues. 

  • • Team player with a strong work ethic and the ability to work independently.
