Scope of Responsibilities:
Develops and manages security for more than one IT functional area (data compliance, systems and network, security operations and incident response) across the enterprise. Assists in the development and implementation of security policies and procedures (e.g., user log-on and authentication rules, security breach escalation procedures, security auditing procedures and use of firewalls and encryption routines). Prepares status reports on security matters to develop security risk analysis scenarios and response procedures. Responsible for investigating and remediating alerts generated by security tools. Enforces security policies and procedures by administering and monitoring security tools and reports, reviewing security violations and investigating possible security exceptions, and maintaining and documenting security controls.
Involved in the security evaluation of vendor products and/or solutions. Provides direct support to the business and IT staff for security related issues. Educates IT and business teams on security policies and responds to security inquiries. Represents the security needs of the organization by providing expertise and assistance in all IT projects with regard to security issues. Must have extensive knowledge of cybersecurity frameworks and data
compliances, systems and network administration, security operations and incident response. A junior-level position primarily focuses on security administration, while a senior-level role involves developing enterprise security strategies, managing security projects, and addressing the most complex security issues.
Intermediate professional level role. Works independently or on multiple IT security projects as a project team member, occasionally as a project leader. Works on small to large, complex security issues or projects that require increased skill in multiple IT functional areas.
Requirements:
Certified Information Systems Security Professional (CISSP)
Education:
Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or other related fields. Or equivalent work experience.
