Job Title: Senior Project Manager – Public Works Construction

Location: Las Vegas, NV

Job Type: Full-Time

Salary Range: 180,000-225,000 base

They are a leading general contractor with decades of experience in delivering high-quality, schedule-driven public works and commercial construction projects. They specialize in municipal buildings, schools, fire stations, libraries, recreation centers, and government facilities. Actively are seeking an experienced Senior Project Manager to lead and oversee complex public sector commercial construction projects from pre-construction through closeout. The ideal candidate is a seasoned professional who thrives in a fast-paced, client-focused environment and is experienced working under the regulatory and compliance requirements of public agency contracts.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead the full project lifecycle, including planning, budgeting, scheduling, procurement, and closeout
  • Serve as primary liaison between the company, public clients, architects, engineers, and subcontractors
  • Manage multiple concurrent projects ranging from $10M to $50M+
  • Oversee and mentor project engineers, assistant PMs, and field supervision staff
  • Ensure adherence to public contracting requirements, including prevailing wage, certified payroll, and labor compliance
  • Drive project performance to meet cost, schedule, safety, and quality goals
  • Administer project documentation including RFIs, submittals, change orders, and meeting minutes
  • Collaborate with estimating during pre-construction and participate in competitive bid reviews
  • Conduct regular site visits to monitor progress, resolve issues, and maintain positive client relationships

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Construction Management, Civil Engineering, Architecture, or related field
  • 10+ years of experience in commercial construction, with 5+ years focused on public works projects
  • Proven success managing ground-up and renovation projects for public agencies (schools, civic buildings, etc.)
  • Deep understanding of public bidding processes, contract types (e.g., Design-Bid-Build, Lease-Leaseback, CMAR), and public procurement rules
  • Strong working knowledge of California Building Code, DSA, and OSHPD (if applicable)
  • Proficient in project management tools such as Procore, Bluebeam, MS Project, or Primavera P6
  • Excellent communication, negotiation, and leadership skills
  • PMP certification or LEED accreditation is a plus
  • Must possess a valid driver’s license and be willing to travel to project sites
