Job Title: Surgery Scheduler

Location: Mesquite, TX 75150

Salary: $20–$23/hour (based on experience)

Type of Assignment: Contract-to-Hire

Work Schedule: Monday–Friday, 8 AM – 5 PM

Environment: Medical Clinic

Position Overview:

The Surgery Scheduler will be responsible for coordinating surgical procedures, handling patient inquiries, and ensuring a seamless scheduling process. This role is ideal for candidates with experience in high-volume scheduling, insurance verification, and surgery coordination .

Key Responsibilities:

• Surgery Scheduling & Coordination:
  • Schedule surgeries for multiple providers daily ( not assigned to a specific provider ).
  • Handle 25–30 patient schedules per day in a high-volume clinic setting.
  • Ensure all pre-operative requirements are met before scheduling.
• Patient Communication & Support:
  • Answer patient questions regarding coverage, payments, and procedure details .
  • Provide guidance on anesthesia processes and insurance coverage .
• Insurance & Administrative Duties:
  • Work with government and commercial insurance carriers to verify coverage.
  • Maintain accurate records and scheduling logs.
  • Assist in other clinic areas as needed.

Qualifications:

• Experience & Skills:
  • 2+ years of experience scheduling non-office medical procedures .
  • Strong knowledge of anesthesia and how it factors into surgery scheduling.
  • Comfortable working in a fast-paced, high-volume medical clinic .
  • Ability to manage multiple provider schedules.
• Preferred Background:
  • Ophthalmology experience is a plus but not required.
  • Experienced Ophthalmic Techs open to training in scheduling will be considered.
