Job Description

About the Job

DramaBox is hiring a Talent Acquisition Specialist (Recruiter) to source screenwriters, producers, post-production staff, and corporate talent for our fast-growing vertical drama platform. This role goes beyond traditional recruiting: you’ll balance creative and corporate hiring needs while building pipelines that fuel the future of mobile-first storytelling.

It’s a high-impact position in a fast-paced, startup-style environment — ideal for someone with strong recruiting experience, industry relationships, and the ability to scale hiring in a rapidly growing entertainment company.

About DramaBox

DramaBox is a global leader in vertical drama production, pioneering a new storytelling format for the digital age. With hubs in Los Angeles, New York, and Asia, we produce high-volume, high-quality content for global audiences. Already a top entertainment app internationally, DramaBox is rapidly expanding in the U.S. to become a dominant force in mobile-first entertainment.

Key Responsibilities

  • Source and recruit contract screenwriters, development/creative executives, producers, post-production talent, and corporate hires.
  • Manage the full-cycle recruitment process — from sourcing and scheduling to offers, approvals, and onboarding — ensuring clear communication with hiring managers and HQ, and collaborating on optimizing onboarding flows (presentations, materials).
  • Act as a brand ambassador in the entertainment and business community, communicating DramaBox’s mission and opportunities.
  • Build and maintain relationships with writers, literary managers, and agencies to source top creative talent.
  • Cultivate relationships with universities (UCLA, USC, AFI, etc.) and coordinate campus outreach to strengthen early-career pipelines.
  • Assist in coordinating partnerships with fellowships, labs, and competitions that surface new creative voices.
  • Participate in industry events, festivals, and branded workshops to identify talent and expand DramaBox’s network.
  • Support efforts to introduce U.S. HR systems (including ATS platforms) to enhance recruiting and onboarding workflows.

Qualifications

  • 3+ years of recruitment experience, ideally in entertainment or creative industries, talent agency, production/studio environments, or high-growth startups.
  • Proven ability to source, assess, and close candidates across creative, executive, production, and corporate functions.
  • Strong knowledge of the Los Angeles entertainment landscape and familiarity with corporate recruiting practices.
  • Excellent relationship-building, communication, and negotiation skills.
  • Comfortable balancing creative talent pipelines with business hiring needs in a startup environment.
  • Familiarity with industry talent-development programs (e.g., fellowships, labs, competitions) is a plus.
  • Experience supporting additional HR functions (employee relations, compensation/benefits, or compliance) in a small-company or startup environment is highly valued.
  • Ability to exercise discretion and sensitivity when working in areas impacted by unions, guilds, labor practices, and compliance requirements.
  • Mandarin language skills are a bonus, given DramaBox’s international footprint.

Why Join Us

  • Shape the creative and corporate hiring strategy for one of the fastest-growing entertainment platforms in the world.
  • Discover and champion emerging talent while helping scale a pioneering global company.
  • Collaborate closely with development, production, and international leadership teams.
  • Grow quickly in a visible, high-impact role at the intersection of entertainment and technology.
