Job Description

Summary of Position

The Trainer is responsible for ensuring that new employees receive onboarding training to prepare them for their role. Additionally, they will offer support to the Training & Compliance Manager and existing staff members as relates to their training needs. This role is essential in assisting with developing effective training for all employees and is crucial to CIA’s continued success.

Essential Job Functions and Responsibilities

Ability to meet deadlines, exhibit great attention to detail, and communicate in a positive manner is essential. Communicating professionally and clearly is required. A thorough understanding of software, systems, business procedures, and problem-solving is necessary for success.

  • Create written and visual training materials used to guide trainees.
  • Recordkeeping to include updating training logs and maintaining employee training files.
  • Consult with managers and HR to identify training needs and to ensure course content, training methodologies, and training materials meet those needs and are within scope.
  • Conduct onboarding training sessions in both live and virtual classroom environments.
  • Make recommendations based on these measurements to improve quality of training programs.
  • Work closely with Training & Compliance Manager to create individual development plans based on formal assessments and manager feedback.
  • Thorough knowledge of agency Learning Management System to be used to identify additional training needs and assign courses accordingly.
  • Answer participant questions related to training.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

  • Expert knowledge of department duties, responsibilities, and procedures.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Proven ability to engage audiences in learning topics and to respond to audience needs quickly and effectively.
  • EPIC, CSR24, and Indio workflow standards and maintenance of documentation.
  • Strong organizational skills and ability to multitask while paying close attention to detail.

Preferred Qualifications

  • 3-5 years of commercial insurance experience.
  • 2+ years of training experience or similar role.
  • Current Property and Casualty License.
  • CISR, CIC, CRM, ARM, AAI, and CPCU designations.
