Position Summary:
The Training Facilitator is responsible for preparing, coordinating, and documenting educational and training programs for employees at IE.
The Training Facilitator gathers information to drive training development paths and works with subject matter experts to form the information into training classes to ensure effective training is in place. They help design hands-on training and training aids to create a more realistic training environment and then deliver this training. They also assist in tracking the training status of employees.
Training material and activities are focused on hands on work processes such as conduit bending, electrical wiring, use of hand and power tools, and large-scale assembly. This role is associated with continuous improvement and is dynamic.
Work Schedule: Dayshift - Monday - Friday 6:30 am – 3:00 pm with occasional off shift

Essential Functions - Other Duties May Be Assigned
1) Developing Training Programs
• In collaboration with the Training Manager and technical experts, assists in developing specific training to improve technical skillsets across both trades and engineering, leadership skills, and other topics deemed important to business needs.
• Gathers information on practices, processes, escapes, turnbacks, deficiencies, and other incidents with the goal of determining program formation and direction.
• Identifies performance gaps and leading quality indicators, and then works with managers to develop and implement appropriate training to address these.
• Makes any necessary adjustments to training methodology and/or re-trains as appropriate based upon surveys and feedback post-training.
• Aligns current training and development programs to effectively impact key business indicators in both performance and quality.
• Establishes guidelines so employees understand expectations and parameters.
2) Administering Employee Training Programs
• Promotes and informs employees about all training programs.
• Ensures employees receive ongoing training to promote continuous improvement and maintain technical relevance.
• Oversee the logistics, coordination, delivery, and ongoing development of assigned programs.
• Builds upon existing learning delivery structure and mechanisms.
• Maintains and refreshes existing program content to ensure content is up to date and meets learners’ needs.
• Under the direction of the Training Manager, contracts with and manages vendors or educational partners for employee participation in third-party training programs.
• Manages program/course completion, testing, and reporting.
• Coordinates between site and corporate projects, ensuring training programs are collaborative across the organization.
• Stay current with trends in learning and development and educational technology to use best practices and new techniques.
3) Documentation and Training Records
• Monitors enrollment and attendance at training classes.
• Meets regularly with employees to assess progress and address concerns.
• Partners with operational leaders to assess if employees demonstrate effective technical skills.
• Ensures adult learning principles are incorporated into training programs.
• Provides basic research, data analytics, and reporting to evaluate training performance and inform decision-making for workforce training offerings and instructor delivery.
• Tracks and maintains training records and assists in reporting the impact of talent development, quality, and process improvement projects.
4) Other Company-wide support

Requirements
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
• Associate’s degree in education, human resources, or business administration / or a technical degree in welding, electrical, or other mechanical disciplines; with at least two years experience as a craftsperson and as a trainer or educator; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
*Ability to bend conduit, read blueprints /diagrams, and perform electrical wiring are strongly preferred
• Experience delivering training in a group setting.
• Ability to speak publicly and deliver training with charisma.
• Excellent communication, interpersonal skills, and relationship management.
• Ability to become proficient in Microsoft Office Suite, as well as other specialized presentation or training applications or learning management systems.
• Ability to work in a fast-paced environment with multiple concurrent assignments; some overtime will be required
• Ability to identify work priorities and function with very little supervision
• Bottom line focus on delivering value to the organization
Note: Preference will be given to candidates who have real work experience in skilled trades. Bi-lingual is a plus.
