Truck Driver Job Specification – CDL A

Location: Cleveland, Ohio

Position Overview

We are seeking a reliable and experienced CDL A Truck Driver to join our team in Cleveland, OH. The driver will be responsible for the safe and timely transport of goods, ensuring compliance with all DOT regulations, company policies, and customer requirements.

Key Responsibilities

  • Operate tractor-trailer vehicles to transport freight to assigned destinations.
  • Perform pre-trip and post-trip inspections of the vehicle.
  • Maintain accurate driving logs and delivery records per DOT and company guidelines.
  • Ensure timely pickups and deliveries while maintaining safety standards.
  • Communicate effectively with dispatch, customers, and team members.
  • Adhere to all state and federal traffic laws, as well as company safety procedures.
  • Secure loads properly to prevent damage or shifting during transport.

Qualifications

  • Valid Class A CDL license.
  • Minimum of 1–2 years of verifiable tractor-trailer driving experience (or company-specific requirement).
  • Clean driving record with no major violations.
  • Ability to pass DOT physical exam and drug screening.
  • Strong knowledge of DOT regulations and hours-of-service rules.
  • Excellent time management and communication skills.

Physical Requirements

  • Ability to lift and move up to 50 lbs as needed.
  • Extended periods of sitting and driving.
  • Ability to climb in/out of the truck cab and trailer.
