Job Description

Our client, a major clinical education platform, is actively looking for a Senior UX Researcher to join their team in Philadelphia! While this is a remote position, the preference is for candidates to be local to Philadelphia and able to come on-site occasionally.

*** This begins as a 6 month contract with an opportunity to extend or convert at any time***

As a UX Researcher supporting our clinical decision-making tools, you’ll play a pivotal role in ensuring our products meet real-world user needs. You’ll conduct impactful research, analyze large datasets of unstructured written text, and collaborate closely with cross-functional teams. Your insights will guide the development of solutions that deliver trustworthy, relevant information within clinical workflows.

We're seeking a skilled UX Researcher with the following capabilities:

Problem-Solving & Strategy:

  • Collaborate with your squad to explore problems from multiple perspectives, especially those involving large-scale text data.
  • Align research solutions with product strategy to ensure our tools meet user and business needs.
  • Apply appropriate research methods—including qualitative analysis, thematic coding, and natural language processing techniques—to analyze unstructured text data.

Research Leadership & Execution:

  • Develop an evidence-based research strategy leveraging large datasets, in partnership with designers, PMs, engineers, and data scientists.
  • Model excellence in user-centered research processes, especially in the context of data-driven insights from text analysis.
  • Advocate for UX research best practices, particularly for research involving large-scale and unstructured text data.
  • Efficiently iterate research within two-week sprint cycles, sharing actionable findings with your team.
  • Use data to define and track key metrics, providing clear, data-driven insights to guide product development.

Customer Focus:

  • Acquire a thorough understanding of customer use cases and ensure their needs are addressed, using insights derived from large-scale text data.
  • Gain deeper knowledge of market segments and competitors, especially in the context of clinical decision support tools.

Requirements:

  • Proven experience in UX research, including designing and executing studies involving large datasets of unstructured written text.
  • Strong skills in qualitative and quantitative research methods, including text analysis, coding, natural language processing, and synthesis.
  • Experience collaborating with cross-functional teams (designers, PMs, engineers, data scientists).
  • Proficiency in at least one coding language commonly used for text data analysis (such as Python or R).
  • Ability to communicate complex findings clearly and advocate for user-centered design.
  • Familiarity with healthcare is a plus.
