We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Cleaning Technician to provide cleaning services for Plasma Spray Booths, Plasma Spray Booth Dust Collectors, and Grit Blast Dust Collectors at the Oklahoma City–Air Logistics Complex (OC-ALC). The ideal candidate will have a strong background in industrial cleaning, environmental safety, and hazardous material handling. This role requires adherence to strict safety protocols, environmental regulations, and quality assurance standards.

1. Daily and Weekly Cleaning Services:

• Perform cleaning services twice per week for Plasma Spray Booths and Dust Collectors, ensuring all tasks are completed at least 48 hours apart.
• Check and replace drums under filtration systems/collectors, ensuring they meet regulatory limits (90% volume or DOT weight limits).
• HEPA vacuum, scrape, wet wipe, mop, and air blast inside booths to remove plasma spray powder and residue.
• Clean the exterior surfaces of galvanized steel exhaust hoods and wall panels using HEPA vacuum systems.
• Empty shop HEPA vacuums into appropriate hazardous waste drums as requested by shop personnel.
• Document all maintenance actions in the Maintenance Log Book and provide copies to the COR within five working days after the end of the month.

1. Quarterly Cleaning Services:

• Perform deep cleaning of the entire floor area of plasma spray and blast areas, including HEPA vacuuming and scrubbing to remove grit blast media and plasma spray residue.
• Remove overspray from galvanized exhaust hoods and apply environmentally safe, non-reflective black or gray peel coat paint.
• Clean high surfaces such as booth tops, light fixtures, chillers, powder feeders, PLC cabinets, and bridge cranes using HEPA vacuum extension arms or fall protection equipment.
• Inspect and clean behind exhaust troughs and rear crawl spaces in designated booths.

1. Hazardous Material Handling:

• Collect, segregate, and dispose of all residue and generated waste in government-provided drums in compliance with the Tinker Hazardous Waste Management Plan (HWMP).
• Ensure all drums are properly sealed, labeled, and placed in designated areas for pickup.
• Notify the COR of any spills, environmental violations, or missing safety equipment immediately.

1. Safety and Compliance:

• Adhere to all federal, state, and local environmental protection and occupational safety regulations.
• Use appropriate Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) including body protective suits and respirators.
• Follow strict safety protocols when working with hazardous materials, including fine dust particulates, Cobalt, Nickel, UV light, and Hexavalent Chromium fumes.
• Disable and re-enable Explosion Suppression systems when changing drums in designated booths.

1. Equipment Maintenance:

• Provide and maintain a High Efficiency Particle Abatement (HEPA) vacuum filter system.
• Use a pallet jack to transport drums between mezzanine and ground floor levels.
• Perform all maintenance on contractor-provided equipment off-site.

1. Documentation and Reporting:

• Maintain accurate records of all cleaning activities, including Maintenance Log Books and Hazardous Waste Usage Logs.
• Provide Safety Data Sheets (SDS) for all materials used in the cleaning process to the COR and Unit Environmental Coordinator (UEC) for approval.
• Submit Corrective Action Reports (CAR) within two business days of any incidents or complaints.

• Experience:
• Minimum of two (2) years of documented experience in cleaning industrial machinery and environmental control enclosures.
• Proven experience with Personal Protective Equipment (PPE), including body protective suits and respirators.
• Familiarity with hazardous material handling and disposal procedures.
• Certifications:
• Completion of air quality studies or similar employee exposure studies on previous projects.
• Training in Resource Conservation Recovery Act (RCRA) regulations, OSHA standards, and environmental compliance.
• Skills:
• Strong attention to detail and ability to follow strict safety and environmental protocols.
• Ability to operate HEPA vacuum systems, pallet jacks, and other cleaning equipment.
• Excellent communication skills for reporting and documenting maintenance actions.
• Physical Requirements:
• Ability to lift and transport heavy drums (up to 650 lbs) using a pallet jack.
• Capable of working in confined spaces and at heights (up to 16 feet).

• The work environment includes exposure to fine dust particulates, hazardous materials, and high noise levels (above 85 dB).
• The technician will work in a Thermal Spray facility with potential exposure to UV light, Cobalt, Nickel, and Hexavalent Chromium fumes.
• The facility contains utilities such as 480V power, compressed air, flammable gases, and fire suppression systems.

• Must pass a background check and obtain necessary security clearances to work on Tinker Air Force Base.
• Must complete Foreign Object Damage (FOD) and Dropped Object Prevention (DOP) training prior to starting work.
• Must comply with all Tinker AFB regulations, including motor vehicle operation and visitor pass requirements.
