Job Description

We’re looking for a Registered Dental Assistant (RDA) to join our family-owned dental practice in Seattle. Attention to detail and the ability to connect with the patients is the most important skill that we are looking for. We are willing to mentor a new RDA with minimal to no experience. This is a full time position (5 days/week). We are an independent dental practice—not a corporate office—and the practice has been part of the Capitol Hill community for over three decades. We provide comprehensive dentistry with an emphasis on patient education and preventive care.

Our patient-centered vision informs everything we do, from the genuine warmth our front office staff shows when greeting patients to the personalized and attentive service that our clinical staff displays during patient care. As practice owners, the same approach guides our interactions with our team; we value our staff, and we aim to provide a work environment that is flexible and supportive, with room to grow and thrive.

Hours & Benefits:
We are typically open Monday through Friday with patient hours from 8:00 – 4:00/5:00 PM. (We are occasionally open on Saturdays as well; Saturdays are optional and are scheduled based on patient need and staff availability.)

We value our team and offer a variety of benefits. Paid time off includes sick time, vacation time, and holidays; we also provide paid parking and in-house dental services. Our practice is conveniently located a few blocks from the Capitol Hill light rail station and near several bus lines; we can cover ORCA fares in lieu of parking for staff who prefer to commute by transit. Additionally, full-time employees (working 30+ hours per week) are eligible to join our health and vision insurance plan.

Core Responsibilities:
  • Operator's set-up and preparing the patient for the procedure.
  • Reviewing the patient’s history and concerns, updating patient records, entering notes, taking x-rays and intra-oral images, taking impressions (traditional or digital), delivering Invisalign trays, placing retraction cords, and preparing temporary crowns.
  • Chair-side assisting for procedures including patient exams, composite fillings, crowns and other indirect restorations, extractions, etc.
  • Sterilizing and maintaining dental instruments.
  • Performing equipment maintenance procedures.
  • Monitoring inventory and ordering supplies.
  • Maintaining a hygienic and organized clinical office environment.

Candidate Skills & Qualifications:

  • Excellent chair-side manners and focus on patient comfort.
  • Good communication skills and the ability to connect with patients.
  • Attention to detail.
  • Ability to multi-task and be comfortable in a fast-paced healthcare setting.
  • Ability to work as a team in a professional environment.
  • Experience of at least a few months as a dental assistant is preferred, but we are open to training early-career RDA candidates.

Next Steps:
If you are interested, please send your resume with a brief note telling us a bit about yourself. We are looking forward to hearing from you!
