Job Description

Join an innovative Powertrain team at a global automotive company as an Electrical Powertrain System Controls Test Engineer. You will contribute to the development and optimization of automotive development and testing with highly collaborative teams.

Responsibilities:

  • Automotive development and testing of Powertrain Control Units.
  • Writing hardware and software specifications.
  • Performing confirmation testing on the actual vehicle and simulator.
  • Troubleshooting and fixing related problems.
  • Software functional data analysis and report generation.
  • Working with component suppliers and other departments to resolve technical issues.
  • Make technical decisions with moderate supervision.
  • Able to work with a team or on an individual basis to reach project goals.
  • Other responsibilities also include researching new technologies and market trends and making proposals for future products.

Requirements:

  • 5+ years experience with Powertrain ECU validation (Transmission, Shifter or FI-ECU preferred experience).
  • Strong knowledge of electrical hardware and software development.
  • Experience in the use of electronic measuring equipment and electrical troubleshooting experience.
  • Proficient PC skills (Microsoft Suite: Excel, Word, PowerPoint, SharePoint).
  • Proficient Vector tools: CANalyzer, CANape / ETAS: INCA.
  • Requires a BS or MS in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Software Engineering, Mechatronics Engineering or similar.
  • Interest in the automotive field.
  • Excellent communication/interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to travel and work overtime may be required.
  • Valid Ohio driver's license.
