Job Description

Military shipbuilding client in the Charleston, South Carolina is seeking several Product Trainers to work in their new facility. US Citizenship is required.

4 different openings

First Shift 7:00 AM - 3:30 PM. (Flexible to work other shifts)

One year contract, can be extended.

Responsibilities

  • Plans, develops, and coordinates in-house product training programs for field support personnel and customers.
  • Obtains information needed to prepare in-house training programs; prepares training materials; develops course content; determines methodology; and coordinates the development of training aids.
  • Conducts training sessions and develops criteria for evaluating effectiveness of training activities.
  • May utilize trainers with technical expertise.
  • Continuously revises lesson plans to meet new training requirements and to keep technical information up to date.

  • 0 years with Bachelors; 1 year with Apprentice School

Product Trainer 1 - Machining - SC

  • Thorough knowledge of marine machinist skills (precision measurement, drilling and tapping).
  • Able to work different shifts

Product Trainer 1 - Electrician - SC

  • Marine Electrical Experience (Absence of Voltage, Electrostatic Discharge and Arc Flash)
  • Marine Electrician General safety and procedures
  • Able to work different shifts

Product Trainer 1 - Sheet Metal - SC

  • Thorough knowledge of marine sheet metal skills.
  • Ability to lay off and measure
  • Able to work different shifts

Product Trainer 1 - Pipefitter - SC

  • Thorough knowledge of marine pipefitting skills (Cutting/Fitting of pipe, identification of pipe joint types and reading of drawings).
  • Ability to communicate effectively with adult learners and to maintain good relationships with staff and students.
  • Able to work different shifts
  • Maintain a high level of professionalism.

Product Trainer 1 - Paint Insulation - SC

  • Surface Prep for Coatings, Brush and Roll Techniques
  • Submarine and Carrier Insulation experience (thermal insulation)
  • AMPP Certifications are a plus
  • Able to work different shifts
