Senior Accountant

Location: Sarasota, FL

Compensation: Based on experience and performance

About the Role

A private residential real estate investment firm is looking for a Senior Accountant to join its growing team in Sarasota. This role supports land acquisition, development, and financing efforts nationwide and plays a key part in the firm's day-to-day financial operations.

Key Responsibilities

• Prepare monthly, quarterly, and year-end financial statements
• Reconcile bank, credit card, and key balance sheet accounts
• Maintain and update the general ledger
• Analyze income statements, balance sheets, and variance reports
• Work closely with asset management and internal teams to ensure accurate reporting
• Assist with audits and tax filings
• Identify ways to improve accounting processes and efficiency

Qualifications & Experience

• Solid accounting or finance background—real estate or land development experience is a plus
• Strong understanding of financial reporting and reconciliations
• Detail-oriented, proactive, and comfortable working in a fast-paced, collaborative environment
