Location: Flexible (Preference for Chicago)

About the Client

Our client is a globally recognized consulting firm with a rapidly expanding actuarial practice. Their team provides expert advisory services across healthcare, life & annuity, and property & casualty (P&C) sectors. Leveraging advanced modeling techniques and deep industry knowledge, they help organizations assess and manage risk, develop strategy, and prepare for uncertain financial outcomes.

The Role

Our client is seeking a Senior Manager to join their P&C actuarial consulting team. This leadership role involves managing diverse client engagements, overseeing project teams, and delivering high-quality actuarial solutions. The successful candidate will work with a broad client base, including insurers, regulators, captives, and large corporations, while contributing to business development and team mentorship.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead a variety of actuarial projects, with a primary focus on loss reserving and additional work in pricing, predictive modeling, capital modeling, and loyalty/warranty programs.
  • Serve as the main point of contact for day-to-day client communications and project delivery.
  • Review and validate technical work, ensuring accuracy and consistency across analyses and deliverables.
  • Mentor and guide junior team members, supporting their development and performance.
  • Prepare and present client-ready reports, exhibits, and presentations that clearly communicate findings and recommendations.
  • Participate in client meetings and contribute to strategic discussions.
  • Support business development efforts by maintaining strong client relationships and contributing to proposals and pitches.

Candidate Profile

  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in Actuarial Science, Mathematics, Statistics, Economics, Finance, or a related field.
  • ACAS or FCAS designation required.
  • Significant experience in the P&C actuarial field, ideally with a mix of consulting and insurance company exposure.
  • Strong project management and organizational skills, with the ability to handle multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving abilities.
  • Effective communicator with strong interpersonal and presentation skills.
  • Demonstrated ability to lead teams and work collaboratively across functions.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint); experience with R, SAS, SQL, VBA, or similar tools is a plus.

Why Join This Firm?

Our client fosters a culture of inclusion, ownership, and continuous growth. They offer a flexible and supportive work environment, competitive compensation, and a comprehensive benefits package-including performance-based bonuses and actuarial study support. The firm also supports a variety of employee resource groups that promote diversity, equity, and belonging.

Compensation Range: $140,000 - $230,000, depending on experience and qualifications.
